Southeast Children's Fund, Inc. (SCF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that, in keeping with its mission to provide educational programs designed to assist residents in Wards 7 & 8 transform the neighborhood to a place where people thrive, rather than merely survive. To fulfill its mission, the organization plans, coordinates, and implements true quality programs and services designed to benefit those it serves. SCF was founded in 1993 with the establishment of the Southeast Children's Fund, Inc. Professional Development Institute and the Southeast Children's Fund Child Development Center.

The organization also partners with Sunshine Early Learning Center which shares the mission of SCF, providing educational and social service programs that benefit families and other key stakeholders who care for and about young children.

Southeast Children's Fund, Inc. also partners with a variety of government agencies and other organizations that share its commitment to providing true quality programs and services to the children, families and professionals who work with them. Partners include: Office of the State Superintendent of Education and Wellness and Nutrition Services. Other partners include: the Salvation Army, Septima Clark Public Charter School, the District of Columbia Association for the Education of Young Children, Washington Area Association of Child Care Centers and the Children's Trust Fund.

Southeast Children's Fund, Inc. Professional Development Institute sponsors the Child Development Associate (CDA) course for early care and education professionals throughout the city. Led by a highly qualified staff, the course helps candidates successfully fulfill the requirements for the CDA. Southeast Children's Fund, Inc. is continually seeking opportunities to work with other organizations, foundations, business leaders and key stakeholders who understand the importance of a true quality Early Care and Education Programs in making sure the future is bright for young children, their families and the professionals who work with them.
