Who We Are

Founded in 1993, Southeast Chidlren's Fund, Inc. is committed to providing evidenced-based, true quality programs and services to the families, young xhildren and professionals who work with them in Ward 7 and 8. We are committed to valuing the potential in those we serve, especially the children and seeking opportunities to transfrom the neighborhoods where we are located into places where families have the resources and support they need to fulfill their aspirations and dreams.

What We do

Our programs include the Southeast Children's Fund Professional Development Institute where Early Childhood Professionals are able to enroll in the Child development Associate (CDA) course. This course is designed to prepare people for the assessment candidates must pass in order to receive a CDA certification. The other program operated by SCF is the Southeast Children's Fund Child Development Center located in the Solomon G. Brown Community Center at the Salvation Army. The Child Develeopment Center is licensed for 52 children, ages 6 weeks - 5 years old and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The Center participates in the Subsidized Child care and Child and Adult Care Food Programs administered by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE).

Our Future

As more evidence is available to help us achieve our mission to provide the children, families and professionals who work with them, we will seek opportunities to strengthen our programs and services. We are involved in advocacy work, expanding the support from foundations, businesses and individuals who share our commitment to those we serve. We want to be an active participant in the journey to create a true quality Early Care and Education System that enables children, families and the professioanls who work with them to reach their natural potential.
